Wiesen Test of Mechanical Aptitude

The Wiesen Test of Mechanical Aptitude (WTMA) measures mechanical aptitude and the ability to learn how to use and maintain equipment/machinery. It is designed to help predict performance for specific occupations that involve operating, maintenance, and servicing of tools, equipment, and machinery. This test is 30 minutes long and has 60 questions. The WTMA test is scored in two ways; a raw score and a percentile ranking. The raw score is a measure of many questions that are scored correctly by the candidate, and the percentile ranking is a relative performance score that indicates how the candidate’s score rates about the score of other candidates who have taken the Wiesen Mechanical Test.

Assessment-Training.com offers a Wiesen Test of Mechanical Aptitude Preparation Package, tailor-made for the Wiesen Test of Mechanical Aptitude. This test includes similar questions as the Wiesen Test of Mechanical Aptitude has. These are questions about the following subjects:

  • Pulleys and Levers

In a mechanical aptitude Pulley & Lever test, you may be asked to differentiate whether the input torque or the output one is larger. You may be asked to establish the volume of force needed for lifting a load. You may also have to identify the course of its tilt.

  • Hydraulics

This test is designed to assess your ability deal with the mechanical properties of liquids. It can be used for the generation, control, and transmission of power by the use of pressurized liquids.

  • Resolution of Forces, Centrifugal Force, and Inertia:

Resolution of forces, Centrifugal forces, and Inertia force is directed away from the axis of rotation that appears to act on all objects when viewed in a rotating frame of reference.

  • Structures, Planes, and Slopes:

The slope or gradient of a line is a number that describes both the direction and the steepness of the line. In this test you are will be asked to calculate sums with the given information through structure plans and slopes.

  • Gears and Belt Drives:

Gears and Belt drives are usually designed to transmit the spherical torque to another cogwheel. In a mechanical aptitude test, you may be asked to identify the direction or the velocity of the cogwheels portrayed.

  • Gravity and Velocity:

This test is designed to assess your ability to calculate the change that is going on in combination with gravity. In a mechanical reasoning test, questions given based on gravity include swinging pendulums, fallings objects or structural support mechanisms.

  • Acoustics and Optics:

This test is designed to assess your ability to the behavior and properties of light. Including its interactions with matter and the construction of instruments that use or detect it

  • Center of Gravity:

This test is designed to assess your ability to quickly calculate or find the center of gravity. In a mechanical reasoning test, questions given based on gravity include swinging pendulums, fallings objects or structural support mechanisms.

  • Electricity:

In a mechanical reasoning electricity test, questions related to electrical circuits come in form of circuit diagrams. Such diagrams will be restricted to show the switches, power source, loads and the wiring’s route. You should have the basic knowledge of the way electricity may flow around any circuit.

  • Heat:

This test is designed to assess your ability to measure your knowledge regard to temperature and its effect.

  • Shape and Volume:

This test is designed to assess your ability to calculate the shape and volume of common figures. By practicing you will be prepared for the real assessment.
