P&G PEAK Performance Assessment (Online)

Before taking the P&G Reasoning Test you will encounter the P&G PEAK Performance assessment test. This test assesses your background, experiences, interests and work-related attitudes. It also measures your compatibility against P&G competencies that are used for defining successful job performance. This test is not timed, which means you can take as much time as you need to answer the questions. Most applicants take about 20 minutes to complete the test.

Based on the requirements of the particular position your applying to, you may be asked to complete the P&G Reasoning Test. This test is designed to measure your cognitive ability. P&G uses these types of tests because the nature of the work in the company is complex and dynamic; the work environment requires employees to continuously learn and grow over time.

P&G Reasoning Test

The P&G Reasoning Screen is a test to be taken after you pass the P&G Peak Performance Assessment. The reasoning aptitude tests consist of multiple-choice numerical, verbal, and abstract reasoning questions.

The ‘online’ test consists of 15 questions and the test takes approximately 30 minutes to finish. Candidates have about two minutes and 30 seconds for each question. The score on your reasoning test will be based on the number of questions that you answered correctly. There is no penalty for incorrect responses. Use your time wisely during the test and make sure you answer all the questions.

Based on the requirements of the specific position you may be asked to complete a paper-and-pencil Reasoning Test. This pre-test is used to verify your initial test scores on the online version of the test. This paper-and-pencil version is longer and more complicated than the online version. Make sure that you’re fully prepared and start practicing now!

The Reasoning Tests consists of the following subtests:

  • P&G Numerical Reasoning Test
  • P&G Logic-based Reasoning Test
  • P&G Figural Reasoning Test

P&G Numerical Reasoning Test

The numerical reasoning part of the P&G Reasoning Test consists of word problem questions in which you need to calculate distance, area, weight, and percentages. Some of the questions require relatively simple calculations. You may use a calculator and extra paper to make your calculations. Each of the multiple-choice questions is followed by either 4 or 5 answer options, but only 1 is correct.

The correct answer is (E), 127.5 km.

Alice had to repay Angela $19.38, and Alice would pay the other half.
This means that a total of 2 x 19.38 = $38.76 was paid for fuel.
One liter of fuel costs $1.52 thus $38.76: $1.52 = the liters of fuel they used during the trip = 25.5 .
The car uses one liter of fuel for every 10 kilometers, therefore 10 x 25.5 = the number of kilometers they drove = 255 km.
That was the total number to the beach and back, so the actual distance between their home and the beach is 255 km: 2 = 127.5 km.

P&G Logic-based Reasoning Test

The logic-based questions of the P&G Reasoning Test are designed to assess your ability to think logically. In each question, you will be presented with a paragraph of information and 4 answer/response options. It’s up to you to draw a conclusion from the given paragraph. This can be the only valid statement that can be logically concluded from the information provided in the paragraph or the only invalid statement that cannot be logically concluded from the information provided. Make sure that your response is based on the information presented in the question; no prior knowledge is required.

The following rules can be found to solve the question:

Rule 1: From left to right, the total number of sides on the shape(s) increases by one, each time as follows: in the first row, the outermost shape increases. For the second row, the middle shape increases and in the third row the innermost shape's sides increases.

Rule 2: From left to right, one of the shapes rotates 90 degrees clockwise each time as follows: in the first row, the middle shape rotates. In the second row, the outermost shape rotates and in the third row, the innermost shape rotates.

Rule 3: From left to right, the innermost shape is shaded alternatively. This pattern continues onto the next row.

P&G Interview Questions and STAR-Method

The application process at P&G usually involves multiple rounds and multiple interviews. During these interviews, the P&G interviewers will ask you questions that will give them information about your past experiences and thought processes as they relate to the position you applied to. Their goal is to understand how well you would fit within the culture at P&G.

A series of standardized questions will be asked about for instance your past experiences, think of questions such as:

  • Tell me about a time when you worked with others.
  • Tell me about a time when you took the initiative to tackle a problem.
  • Give an example of a time when you created something new.

You will also be asked questions about your thought process in work-related situations, such as:

  • If you were given a challenging project, how would you ensure its success?
  • What would you do if you had a conflict with a member of your team?

It’s important to give a complete response to the behavioral questions to let the interviewers thoroughly understand why you acted the way you did and what your thought process was. In order to provide a comprehensive response, you can use the STAR-method.

The STAR-method is short for Situation, Task, Action, Result. Each concept is a step you can take to answer a behavioral interview question. By completing all four steps in answering a question you can provide a thorough answer. The concepts in the STAR acronym include:

Situation: This is where you describe the context within which you performed a specific job, task or faced a challenge at work. For example, you were working on a project in a team where you got into a conflict with a coworker.

Task: Next, describe your role and responsibility in the earlier mentioned situation. What were you doing and what was expected of you?

Action: After describing your task, describe what actions you took to complete this task. Focus here on what you did, rather than what team members, your boss or other coworkers did.

Result: Finally, explain the outcomes or results of the actions that you took. Emphasize on what you accomplished and what you learned from the particular situation.
