Cubiks Diagrammatic Reasoning Test
The Cubiks Diagrammatic Reasoning test is used to assess an individual's ability to analyze, evaluate and draw logical inferences from diagrammatic data. To do this, the candidate is required to identify patterns in diagrams and identify a missing or following diagram in the given series. Depending on the job level, this test typically lasts around 30 minutes.
Cubiks Numerical Reasoning Test
The Cubiks Numerical Reasoning test is designed to assess the understanding of tables of statistical and numerical data, as well as the ability to make logical deductions. It is common for this test to be related and relevant to the workplace, requiring the job candidate to solve practical numerical problems. Depending on the job level, this test typically lasts around 20 minutes.
Cubiks Verbal Reasoning Test
The Cubiks Verbal Reasoning test is designed to measure the ability to understand written information and to evaluate arguments about this information. Candidates are usually provided with a passage of written information, often relevant to the workplace, and are asked to answer questions based on this given information. Depending on the job level, this test typically lasts around 20 minutes.
Cubiks Problem Solving Test
The Cubiks Problem Solving test is used as an indicator in assessing general cognitive ability and comes in a variety of different formats. The test is applied in a wide range of work fields such as secretarial and office assistant positions, engineers, and other non-management positions. The Problem Solving test will contain both numerical and verbal questions.
The numerical questions cover the following areas:
Number sequences/series - In this test the candidate is presented with number sequences which are given as finite sequences of numbers in certain patterns. To solve these sequences the applicant is required to figure out the rule/pattern and come up with the next logical number in the sequence.
Simple Calculations - In the 'simple' calculations test the candidate has to work out some simple calculations such as completing a sum by working out a missing number or equation.
Complex Calculations - The 'complex' calculations part of the test requires the candidate to make calculations that need more than one function to complete.
The verbal questions cover, amongst others, the following areas:
Antonyms - An antonym is a word that is of contrary meaning to another. In the Antonyms test, the candidate has to select the word that is the opposite of the given word.
Deviation from the category - In this test the candidate has to select the word that is the odd one out of 5 presented words.
Pairs of concepts - In the pairs of concepts test the candidate is asked to figure out and decide whether they have the same meaning or not.
Verbal analogies - In the verbal analogy test the candidate is given one pair of related words/statements, and he or she has to decide whether there is a true analogy, a false one, or neither.
Cubiks also publishes several personality and motivational questionnaires. These tests are designed to give an insight into an individual's personality and drivers, but also their preferences in the workplace. Remember, there are no right or wrong answers in these tests, and also, the test is not timed. The most commonly used Cubiks personality test is the PAPI 3. This test explores the drivers and preferred working styles of candidates. Based on this information strengths and weaknesses of the candidate in relation to the specific job are identified.
The Cubiks Situational Judgement Test (SJT) assesses a candidate's aptitude and suitability for a potential role based on their responses in a decision-making scenario that is often related to the working environment. This test is commonly used by recruiters who go through a high volume of applicants. According to Cubiks, the SJT can automatically screen out between 30% and 50% of total applicants.
